    Primary Job Responsibilities:

    • Warmly welcoming every guest you see. Smile and say hello. 

    • Assisting with basic guest service inquiries and helping new guests get comfortable and find their way around by providing a 1-on-1 tour to every first-time guest.

    • Maintaining the studio space by performing routine and miscellaneous tasks including cleaning all common areas; front desk, changerooms, waiting room, hot studio, showers, bathrooms & locker area.

    • Regular sweeping & vacuuming common areas, emptying garbage and maintaining general cleanliness.

    • Sanitize high-touch surfaces and equipment between classes and throughout the day.

    • Restock supplies such as towels, toiletries, and sanitization products.

    • Oversee onsite laundry; clearing and cleaning laundry bins, running towels through wash & dry cycles and rolling of towels for guests.

    • Conduct regular inspections to ensure all areas meet cleanliness and safety standards.

    • Ensure props are set up and removed accordingly for each class. 

    • Clear, clean and reset the studio space after every class. 

    • Answer guest inquiries to the best of your knowledge; ensure all enquiries receive a follow up from regular staff members if needed. Remember, hospitality is our service! 

    • Work alongside your team members to create an uplifting experience for everyone. You will check in with your teammates on site for support where necessary.

    • Other duties as assigned. 

    Program Requirements:

    Commitment & Availability:

    • Minimum 3-month commitment

    • Must be available for a consistent 4-hour shift per week

    Available Shifts:

    Monday–Friday

    • 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

    • 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM 

    Saturday & Sunday

    • 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

    Qualifications & Expectations:

    • Strong attention to cleanliness and studio standards

    • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

    • Reliable, punctual, and very hospitable with a proactive approach to tasks

    • Comfortable performing physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods in a heated environment 

    About You:

    • A passion for group fitness

    • Excellent communication, organizational and cleaning skills

    • Willingness to start tasks without supervision  

    • Previous hospitality experience preferred

  • About the Role:

    Our instructors provide a first class hospitality experience for our guests while instructing the group through fun, challenging, and uplifting classes. 

    The studio is hospitality driven, meaning we strive to bring kindness and generosity and make others feel comfortable and cared for.  The instructor should be passionate about fitness, interacting with their students, and have a desire for strong connections based on mutual respect and trust. As part of the instructor team, your responsibility is to warmly welcome students to the space, and then lead them through a heated, music-driven, 60-minute experience accessible to all levels. You must be engaged with the community, crave connection and constantly be looking for ways to make students’ days a little bit better. You will bring your creativity to each class with a unique sequence and music compilation to keep students engaged, challenged and wanting more. Above all, the teacher should cultivate a learning experience that is organized, meaningful, and enjoyable. 

    Our ideal teacher has trained in pilates methods and worked as an instructor for several years. We want you to create fun and creative classes, and you must be responsive to the needs of our clients. You also need to be organized, reliable, and able to arrive at all your scheduled classes and appointments on time.

    Primary Job Responsibilities:

    • Warmly welcome every guest you see. Smile and say hello. Remember names and greet returning guests by name. 

    • Complete understanding of Melt policies, procedures, products, memberships and classes to best suit students’ needs and inquiries. Asking for assistance from senior staff members if needed. 

    • Helping new guests become familiar with the studio by answering questions and explaining props & mat locations in the room as required. Hospitality is our service! 

    • Work alongside the desk team to ensure the studio space is ready for class, temperature is correct, headsets working, and props are placed on each mat correctly.

    • Be in the waiting room greeting students at least 15 minutes prior to class start time. 

    • Design engaging group classes for clients based on the studio class descriptions, levels, and guidelines.

    • Be able to modify, adapt and make appropriate exercise selections and modifications for clients in pain or with limitations. We are an inclusive environment where hospitality and having students enjoy classes is our primary focus. 

    • Reports any incidents/accidents and/or areas of concern to the supervisor.

    • Ensure classes start and end on time. 

    • Willingness to take initiative without supervision. 

    • Attends and participates in meetings and training sessions.

    • Be a life-long student. Love learning, seek ways to learn more, and grow in your abilities as a teacher.

    • Try to resolve all guest questions or issues on first contact. Seek additional help as required.

    • Work alongside your team members to create an uplifting experience for everyone. You will check in with your teammates on site for support where necessary.

    Qualifications: 

    • Must have taken at least 2 classes at Melt

    • Active CPR and First Aid certification

    • Minimum 2 years teaching experience 

    • Prior fitness certification in pilates required

    • Active insurance coverage 

    • Keep all professional certifications valid and up to date, including completing required continuing education courses.

    • Have working knowledge in anatomy, biomechanics, and common musculoskeletal issues.

    • A passion for hospitality, and customer service centred mentality. Serving with empathy, kindness, patience and support.

    • Strong work ethic and habits including reliability, punctuality, and organizational skills.

    • Ability to multi-task and function in a fast paced environment; communicates clearly, is a self-starter and team player.

    • Outgoing, empathetic and friendly personality with a strong ability to connect with others.

    • Be willing to hear feedback about class style, cueing, music choices and make adjustments as required for Melt. 

    • MarianaTek software experience preferred. 

    • Previous hospitality experience preferred.

    Work Requirements:

    • Ability for flexible work hours, possible early morning/late night/weekends

    • Some holidays (open year-round)

    • Prepare music and sequence for 60-minute classes in your hired modality 

    • Must have a friendly, outgoing personality with compassion, patience and open-mindedness toward clients

    • Able to work on your own without supervision and take responsibility for the studio

    • Maintain a positive and supportive environment for clients

    Physical Requirements:

    • Able to work on your feet for entire 60-minute class in infrared heat 

    • Able to move, pull, carry or lift up to 30 pounds

    • Must be able to kneel, bend, reach, climb and stand for long durations of time

    • Able to work in an environment with large temperature variations

    • This is an independent contractor position. Paid per class, with additional compensation based on attendance when specified targets are met.
